We have arrived! Day 1 – PYM 2026
Today, Cluj-Napoca became a little bit like the center of the world. In the morning, our volunteers were putting on the finishing touches, while we also received a special gift: young Jesuits in formation joined us to accompany our service with prayers and conversations. Already on the first day, we experienced how different charisms reinforce one another. This is how shared service becomes a true gift.
In the afternoon, young people from the Catalan, Spanish, Slovak, and Polish provinces arrived one after another, filling Báthory High School with life, smiles, and a multitude of languages. It was a great joy to welcome Jacek Wolan Sch.P., general assistant for Europe, and Fr. Viktor Zsódi, Provincial Superior, who also arrived among us.
At the opening ceremony, István Vákár, Vice President of the Cluj County Council, and Hajnal Schuller, Principal of the Báthory István Theoretical High School, greeted us. After that, the real PYM atmosphere kicked off: music, dancing, singing, and creative presentations from the provinces. Following the first small-group meetings, we closed the day with a joint prayer.
This was only the first day… and you can already feel it: this week, we are truly growing together.
