Dear Young People,
It is with great joy that I invite and welcome the young people, educators, and communities of the Piarist Order to the PYM 2026 International Piarist Youth Meeting, hosted by the Hungarian Province in Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár) from July 27 to August 2, 2026.
The pastoral motto for the 2025-2026 school year—”Rooted in Him”—calls us to return again and again to the source of our mission: Jesus Christ. It is in this relationship that all growth originates, which sustains us and forms us into a community. The motto of PYM 2026 springs from this root: „We grow together.”
Growth is never a solitary process. On the path of faith, vocation, commitment, and becoming human, we are always dependent on one another: youth and mentors, religious and laypeople, coming from different countries and cultures. The Piarist charism has been about this from the very beginning: listening together to God’s call, learning together, and seeking answers to the signs of the times together.
Cluj-Napoca is a particularly fitting location for this encounter. Its history, diversity, and living ecclesiastical traditions remind us that faith becomes truly fruitful when it is capable of entering into dialogue, building bridges, and forming community. Here, we want to provide a space for young people to experience that they are part of the Piarist family and that they have a place, a voice, and a mission in the Church and in the world.
The goal of PYM 2026 is to provide an opportunity to encounter Jesus, each other, and ourselves; to strengthen us in the conviction that, rooted in Christ, we can truly grow together—in faith, responsibility, and hope.
I affectionately invite and encourage every community and young person to participate! See you in Cluj-Napoca!
